Repair PDF
Repair a damaged PDF and recover data from corrupt file.
What Repair PDF does
Repair PDF rebuilds a damaged or unreadable PDF by copying its readable pages into a fresh document with a clean file structure. It is the recovery step for a file that a viewer refuses to open, or that opens with an error about a damaged cross-reference table — usually the result of an interrupted download or a partial copy. What it cannot do is reconstruct content that is genuinely absent from the file.
How to repair pdf
- Select the damaged PDF.
- Press Repair PDF.
- Download the rebuilt document and check that the pages you need are present.
Privacy
The damaged file is repaired in the browser tab and the rebuilt document is downloaded. Nothing is uploaded — which matters when the broken file is the only copy you have.
Questions
What kind of damage can it fix?
Structural problems — a broken cross-reference table, an incomplete object tree, trailing garbage from an interrupted transfer. It rebuilds the file around the pages it can still read.
Can it recover a zero-byte file?
No. If the bytes are not there, there is nothing to rebuild.
Will the repaired file be identical to the original?
For the recovered pages, yes in content. Document-level metadata and any damaged outline entries may be lost.
