Protect PDF
Encrypt your PDF with a password to keep sensitive data confidential.
What Protect PDF does
Protect PDF encrypts a document with a password, so that opening it requires the password you set. Encryption uses AES-256, the current standard, and is applied before the file ever leaves the tab — which means the unencrypted version never exists anywhere except your device.
How to protect pdf
- Select the PDF you want to protect.
- Type the password you want to require.
- Press Protect PDF and download the encrypted file.
Privacy
Encryption runs in the tab. The password and the document never leave your device.
